Daruka lived in a forest with his wife, Daruki, and hated anyone devoted to Shiva. One day, he captured Supriya and locked him in a dark cave, planning to kill him. Supriya was scared but didn’t lose faith. He chanted Shiva’s name louder and louder. Suddenly, the cave trembled. Shiva burst forth as a fiery Jyotirlinga, his eyes blazing. He fought Daruka and defeated him, freeing Supriya. The demon’s poison couldn’t harm anymore, and Shiva stayed as Nageshwar, the Lord of Serpents, guarding against evil.
