When Rama was sentenced to 14 years of exile due to Kaikeyi’s machinations, Lakshman’s resolve was immediate: he would join his brother. Leaving behind Ayodhya’s comforts, he donned bark and followed Rama and Sita into the wilderness, his bow ever ready.
